China Chronicles 4.2- I Wish My Hippocampus Would Fire Faster

Seriously. I’m trying to memorize all these new Chinese characters, and I learned from Psych 50 (Intro to Cognitive Neuroscience) this past winter quarter that our hippocampus is responsible for forming and then retrieving associations between the firing of neurons in different parts of our brain. Fire faster, hippocampus! Trying different methods to memorize words, but it’s still slow going. Mnemonics help, but I also need to just strengthen the synaptic connection through rote repetition. Look at me, applying knowledge that I’ve learned.
